we have parking on our street stating 2 hours we also have residents whom live on it we got permits which allow us the privilige to in front of our home we also know many residents dont have them.today after 5 years my wife gets a ticket now sayin this did anyone else we will investigate but here my thought she has a permit maybe a warning telling her it was expired would be proper now again it is the principle feedback please

People it will help if you use sentences instead of one period for a whole paragraph. Let me try to decipher this message.  
-You have 2 hr parking on your street.  
-You can apply for a FREE ANNUAL parking permit to allow you to park full time longer than the 2 hr limit.  
-After 5 years of parking there you get a ticket because you have an expired parking permit.  
-You think you should have just gotten a warning.  
 
Feedback:  
-How are they to track when and who gives you a warning?  
-I have a fishing license. Nobody reminds me when it expires.  
-After 5 years of parking in the same location that is 5 annual permits you have applied for you feel you should not have to remind yourself to renew your parking ticket?  
- The city wastes enough money as it is. I don't want to see a cost to mail out notices to renew a free parking pass.  
-Take it as lesson learned. Set a calendar reminder in your computer, email, phone, etc.  
-I presume you are an adult so take responsibility for your actions.

I read that post, guessing that English is not the first language of this person. You figured it out, no need to point out the grammar.  
 
And it is just a thought it may be expired. The poster did not say it was.

A warning telling her it was expired. That to me says they let it pass, got caught, now wants a warning instead.

Are you saying you didn't renew your parking permit for five years?

how you decipher it - but there was no need to i:nclude the grammar part of it. We have many, many immigrants, I am only suggesting that perhaps English was not their first language and are still learning. That was my first thought and a look at the posters name.  
 
So, as I read it, I knew someone would just have to bring the grammar up, but kept an open mind on the poster, not to degrade them.  
 
 
Note: I have fixed my mistake 4 times, trying to edit and it is not saving it. Perhaps they had the same problem?

I do not know. But with all the immigrants, not knowing the parking policy, it was my first thought as I read the post. Really no reason to even bring it up.

No warnings is necessary it is your responsibility to remember your permit needs to be renewed. Do you know how many people will use this excuse to say they didn't know it was expired.

I wonder how many people use someone else’s expired pass.

For the permits to be valid they have to be properly adhered to the window (they are stickers) First year our street went to 2 hour parking, many people did not realize they had to renew and all got fines. No warnings.

The spelling and diction certainly were not indicative of someone who is learning English.  
 
The original poster did not use any periods to finish a sentence thus making the post hard to understand. Fishn' Guy only assisted by providing a possible interpretation.

They use the voice chat microphone on their iPhone like I do. Unless you specifically say comma or period, there is no punctuation. I however believe that has nothing to do with the issue of this post about parking. Perhaps it could be under a new discussion.

feedback? No, I do not see a warning being necessary for an expired pass. Out of curiosity-how long has it been expired? 4 days? 4 months? Or the past 4 years? If it is a free permit why not just renew it on time and then no ticket would be issued.

All your posts in this thread focus on me pointing out the person's grammar. I at least tried to interpret the bad paragraph and give feedback on it. Your interpretation says they didn't say their parking pass expired yet I interpret it as they said it did and expected just a warning. Now if better grammar was used it would clear things up and not be misread. They wanted feedback right? That is feedback too. So moving on from your constant posts on me pointing out their grammar.....do you have feedback related to what this person has posted?

I interpret that is was just a warning.  
 
But, I see the OP has not been back to clarify, because they don't want to, due to their grammar being pointed out.

How did you determine that people pointing out the grammar are keeping the original poster from replying?  
 
As for the original question, I don't see anything wrong with giving a ticket.

What is funny about this is you are bringing the most attention to it. Lol. I did a search on the user and they have posted before with difficult posts to read. Judging by a post the wife makes Ukrainian food. It doesn't matter where you are from. If I moved to another country for at least 5 years I would hope by then I would be able to make simple sentences. If you want to ask something people need to be able to understand truly what you are asking.

My posts get edited for "snark" for saying google is your bestfriend, when trying to advise people on where to find information they are looking for it, but this a**hat gets to just poopoo all over this poster and none of the admins seem to care.

Fix the expired pass and move on.

I have had my share of blocks for saying Google suggests posts. Now you want to name call me for reasons unknown(which is against the forum rules but I won't hit the report button). I simply said it would help to use sentences. Heck point form would be easier to read. I was purely cleaning up what was said and the OP could easily chirp in and let me know if I was right or wrong.

To be fair, there was really no reason for me to call you names. I am sorry for that. It just seems that certain people do get away with things that others don't.  
 
I don't think anyone expects you to be sympathetic...just maybe a little less harsh with your statements. You come off way more rude/strongly than you probably mean to, however, I could probably listen to my own advice eh? That and it all depends on how the person reading it perceives it I suppose.

thank you for your insight to how i speak as for each sentence period.first the ticket is a ticket no matter i got it because permit expired .this is not the problem .many on this street do not have one at all .the ticket stated i parked more than two hours so do the folks both sides no ticket .so i should get a warning yes

All you did was talk about his/her grammar, which was not the issue, you obviously figured out what was meant, so no need to bring it up.  
 
No need to bring up all the things you had to remember to get either, that was not what the poster was wondering about.  
 
I do wish the poster would come back and reply, with a bit better explanation, so advice could be given. But, I suppose they would feel attacked if something wasn't right.

Everyone we is parking without permits so tetyana should too., no fair tetyana got a ticket. Sorry, still no sympathy here. Make.sure.tje permit is renewed and you will not get a ticket-do not worry about what the neighbors do. "everyone else does it" is no defense for anything.
