i need a 60th birthday cake. Not sure how i want it to look atm. But nothin overly fancy or pricey but something simple and really nice. wheres the best tasting cake place to go?? and not overly priced. i dont wanr fondant so id like no fondant cake. ive never gone to a bakery before as usually my mom is the amazing baker in the family but this time its her bday and id like to try not to get her just a normal lookin cake that jus says happy 60th bday

Try the Co-op bakery on Richmond Ave.  
Decent prices and variety. I like their soft subtle frosting, not too sweet, not too thick.

I love their cakes: buttercream icing-yum Go in the morning and speak to one of the bakery staff. They can suggest size/shape, flavours, icing designs and colours.

Got a came from there recently, just had it written on but they do images too. Several designs to choose from. All who had it thought it was quite good and better than cakes we had had from other bakeries. Icing was not as sweet or chemical tasting. We got vanilla.

Take a picture of your mom and they can put it on the cake with flowers or something like that. It will look wonderful ..

I also recommend Safeway - their buttercream icing is delicious and good variety of fillings.

Safeway for sure, they can put pics on cakes ,decorate it any way you want, and you don't pay any extra.. Icing is delicious!

Completely agree! Co-op has the absolute best tasting cake and frosting! Great prices, too. Have made amazing birthday and celebration cakes for us that look fantastic as well. Great choice every time. Never disappointed!

Courtney's does cakes and cup cakes. Soo many yummy flavours to choose from

Personally I think co-op is the best as I don't think it's too sweet. I find safeways icing is too sweet and rich. If u are still unsure ask did a taste of the icing. Co-op does sell individual cupcakes so that would be a good indication of what your cake would taste like.

You could be right-I don't get out for cake very often.

Sounds like safeway has most recommendations. Ill check em out n then co-op and decide

Safeway cakes! ***insert heart eyes. I have a sweet tooth and love those cakes! They do a great job decorating too!

We always get our birthday cakes from Safeway.

if its for a 60th party i would highly recommend co-op its not super sweet and its very enjoyable to eat. safeway is super sweet and not so great. runner up would be sobeys. i agree with the well dressed cakes, look fancy but dont taste good. last time i was almost sick eating just a cupcake but i cant stand super sugary. if thats your thing then go there.

I will never buy from Safeway. The icing is so horribly sweet.  
Co op and Sobeys cake is moist and the icing is light and creamy.  
Sobeys can do image cakes. They are my number 1 affordable go to cake place.

Yes icing is sweet but delicious .  
Id for sure go with Safeway...
