    Construction will bring a much needed boost to hotel space especially when big events are planned. Will certainly help improve the looks of 18th street. Now what about that boarded up gas station?

    Just to add...... Via a Sun story from June, hotel ownership is hoping demolition might be done in time for them to be able to start building in November. Thought is it will take 14 months to build, with opening in first quarter of 2020.

    Wish there would be more action on vacant buildings on 18th st. Shoppers drug mart moving out will add to the list.

    they are going into shoppers mall... right next to Sobeys.. have you not seen it yet?

    Right you are, thanks for pointing that out. No underground tunnel planned under 18th that I have the scoop on but if you have the time in another thread I’ve got more impractical ideas than you can shake a stick at to make 18th more pedestrian-friendly

    For a bit better idea of the finished product, here's a link to their Kelowna hotel which I'm told is almost identical. Kelowna has 120 rooms, Brandon 116 with a little more meeting space..
