All that I can find with a similar name is an ash cone leaf roller caterpillar. Nothing else came up when I searched "ash caterpillar." Is that what you mean? If so, they will not kill a tree and do not warrant spraying so say many Alberta tree/city arborist sites, so if your caterpillar is one of those, it really is nothing to get worried about. They will do ash leaf mining & leaf rolling in their life cycle.
