Courts have ordered her to sell off these ponies, even though she has preserved this rare breed, as part of a divorce settlement. She cannot work due to illnesses.  
 
Grunthal is where the auction is happening, today 14 Oct 2017, as per the article.

That’s incredibly disheartening to hear. Hopefully they were sold to homes rather then meat houses.

Be anything since there is no documentation/papers to prove they are what they are claimed to be. Running a bunch of horses together to breed Willy nilly is no way to preserve a breed.  
 
I have also been told by people in the know that there is no court order to send them to a killer sale-they were supposed to be auctioned at an on farm sale but last minute the owner decided on Grunthal.  
 
Be careful what you donate money to-i will be saving my money for a better cause.
