Can anyone give me a idea on how long they waited from the optometrist referral till they got a consolation appointment for cataract surgery here in Brandon?  
Also did Dr. Rocha’s office phone you or send you a letter about when your consolation was scheduled?  
I’m currently patiently waiting going on 3 months without hearing anything and the uncertainly is bothering me.  
Any info from other people who have gone through the referral and consolation would be greatly appreciated.

to confirm when (or whether!) the letter was sent. Then contact Dr. Rocha's office to confirm that they got it, and ask them how long you will have to wait to get word of your appointment and how they will notify you. Although it rarely happens, sometimes letters don't get set or aren't received, and there is no harm in doing some follow-up yourself.

I recently had character surgery completed. I had a 6 month wait with Dr. Rocha before my first appointment. As the previous poster indicated, check with your optometrist to ensure they have sent the referral letter. Mine had forgot to send mine. One the referral is received, I received a letter with the appointment date and time along with instructions.  
The surgery went very well with a quick recovery time. After the consultation and physical with my doctor was completed, I had about a 2 month wait for surgery. The Brandon hospital will contact you with the surgery date.  
Dr. Rocha was awesome. Very personable and provides pre and post surgery information.
