Gas prices will be going up this evening. Everyone fill her up! Being gouged at it's finest!

It's funny how these pipelines and refineries always end up "breaking down" close to holidays isn't it.  
I mean it's not like it's not about to be American Thanksgiving or anything..

Ours went up here in Neepawa yesterday to 117.9

This pipeline was down but has already been repaired apparently looking at their website?

Why the jump last time to 106.9. Was it a snowstorm in Antarctica? Or a Kangaroo being hit and killed by a vehicle in Australia?  
 
The repair was done yesterday. Yup, we need to raise the price after the fact.

They need the money for bonuses I guess. Owners not taking home enough so gotta raise the price. Maybe time to not buy gas.

Does anyone know what gas stations in Brandon, if any, haven't gone up yet?

We saw a couple of places on Pembina Highway south of Bishop Grandin go to 121.9 today... crazy.

Was going to blame the speculators on the futures markets for the big run up in prices, but it looks like gasoline futures are trading in a range between $1.55 and $1.80, which is a 25 cent range per gallon, this is on the quoted cash market. We have had a bit of a decline in the Canadian dollar which would be adding a bit to higher prices, but a 25 cent range on the American market (per America gallon) does in no way equate back into a 87 cent increase in prices here in Canada if we compare in US gallons.

How is it that gas stations receiving new fuel and hence now more expensive fuel on different days all seem to raise the price on the same day? Wouldn't the fuel that was delivered a few days ago and now being sold today been bought at a price that's 11 cents/L less than the price it's now being bought for?

no driving unless I have to, local businesses may suffer sales as I save my purchases for one trip and I will be on-line shopping more: my winter drive out west will be into the US rather than BC. Even with the exchange, it will still be cheaper.

Guess this means higher ridership on the Brandon Bus system?!!!

Fueled up at Superstore yesterday while it was still cheap, what a gong-show traffic backing up onto Victoria, surprised there weren't any fights few people decided to start backing into spots to jump the lines.  
 
Tempted to take a few 5 gallon jerry-cans to Regina this weekend while we are out there, see the discount station is still at 98.9!!

Just arrived in Winnipeg. Gas at Austin was 99.9 but fueled up in Portage for 97.4. So far in Winnipeg the price is 97.4.  
Come on Brandon gas stations quit lining your pockets at our expense!!

I would sure like to hear Larry MaGuire (Member of Parliament: Brandon/Souris) pipe in on this conversation. It seems to never go away!!!  
 
Larry, how about posting a comment on this forum for your constituents so we can get a better idea of what is going on with Brandon gas prices?

Surely, gasoline is under federal jurisdiction, and so is the Competition Act.

Just in transcona and it was 94.9

So my question is Why is Gas at 26th and Vic Petro Can at $1.059 while All the rest are at $.999 ???  
And there are still cars getting gas at Petro..

Gas was 105.9 when I went through Winnipeg this morning.

You know I consider myself lucky, although I live in the rural area and I have to use gas to get into town, or make a trip to Brandon for parts, I'm not really held captive. If the price of fuel drops to a level I consider affordable, I have the option of purchasing a large quantity and maybe taking benefit of the market. If the price in Winnipeg is 97 cents a litre, and I can get it delivered to the farm for 3 cents over that price, I have the option to do that. Is it fair, I can't say for sure, but that's the way it is.  
I thought that maybe contributing information, as well as opinions, it would allow other people options. Sorry folks, guess the way it is you're on your own, and good luck.
