So coming out of 7-11 on 34 th looked both ways and saw white car in a distance,just coming through the lights, so proceeded to drive south to see grandkids on Winchester, (don't need glasses and 20/20 vision) as I slowed down because I saw the city fellows working .....WHOO......guy speeds up, white car, fat, and sunglasses and flips me the bird as he speeds past 3 city workers at 10:00 AM (is there NOT a speed limit of 30 when passing workers??) . He cut me off , with window down flipping the finger and so I moved to west lane to get to the corner. He proceeded to scream obscenities at me with the windows down so I yelled "do you not see the city guys working" ...can't repeat what he said next and I am usually calm called him an A-HOLE as he turned east on park but I was shaken for a good hour...now I truly know the meaning of road rage.....after 61 years. Hope his day got better as obviously he had a tough morning...

Yes I had a guy a few weeks back now I was going to Tim hortons by Canadian tire coming down the south east entrance there towards the 3 way stop signs and buddy laid on the horn when I was 50 feet from the stop sign right until I pulled up to it and I didnt even realise he was honking at me I rolled my window down and he said something couldn't make it out so i said what then he took off lol but i realised later he said there's a stop sighn. Like ya no kidding and that's a horn your pushing dumba** i don't know what his problem was he could have gone through that stop sighn 10 times by the time i got to it and i wasn't driving fast as i was coming up and going over the speed bump there. I think some people just have a bad day and take it out on whoever i wouldn't worried about it he will give that finger to the wrong person one day.

Yes it is 60 maximum on Hwy, I'm unsure if that changes in the city. I would imagine it would since the urban speed limit is 50 isn't it??

Sign posted said 30 and yes you are right I am chubby also

Side note, I've used my horn a few times in the past few months and people are in literal disbelief, shock and awe when I have.  
 
It's like everyone here is too 'polite' to honk at one another when it is well deserved. Such as....sitting at a green light, on your phone, I am behind you and you're not moving - I am going to lay on the horn.  
 
Or...you cut me off - HORN.  
 
Or...you stop at a yellow flashing light when you should be proceeding through, again, horn it is.

Thanks again just needed to vent....as have NEVER had this happen...as I said sign on Victoria going to bank said "30" for workers, so I am always aware of signs or just go 30 in the city if workers are doing road work...am I wrong??? Please correct me as the sign was (is now) there. Just saying some people are wing nuts and yes I had no right to say fat... Just was upset. Have a good evening everyone.

The sign definitely said 30 , perhaps it is 60 on highways?

Few things don't make sense. I can't understand why people feel the need to add points like "going to see my grandkids". Honestly does it really matter what you are doing, or if someone is fat or not? At the intersection the speed is 50km. The speed limit increases to 60 right after the intersection you entered from the parking lot on 34th. It is less than 400 feet from the Vic/34th intersection to the parking lot exit that you pulled out on. Like another said I have always known limit when passing construction workers is 60km/hr unless posted. Now you say you saw him going through the intersection. Were there posted signs on the north side of the intersection? You mention them on Vic Ave, and is now there on 34th.

Other side of coin....Guy may not have had any signs to reduce speed. Guy cruises through intersection doing probably 50ish, then proceeds to speed up to 60. You pull out in front of him and proceed to go 30. I would be choked too if someone pulled out in front of me going half the speed limit.

I actually drove back after to see if I was seriously crazy after this happened..... And the sign on Victoria said 30 km while the guys we're working so please unless you have had a incidence of a road rage.....do not comment unless you do...it is horrible ...

It's funny, you know. All the people on this discussion saying how awful this obnoxious and angry road rage is, yet I don't doubt some of them are the same ones who told me I was crazy for complaining about road rage, just because I'm driving along a little slower than the rest of them. Whether it's "rude", or "inconsiderate", it is NOT a reason to cuss and flip people off. I could be an older person driving. So if it's wrong here, don't say I'm wrong there

no comment...drive by or call the city to see what signs were posted.....only saying grandkids or not...fat or not...some people are intended to stay off the road

Is a common occurrence now. Just going out to the store or elsewhere, & Road Rage attitude strikes. Some drivers think one must drive to their expectations. Just driving the speed limits aren't good enough. Coming to a complete stop at a stop sign warrants a honking of someone's horn, or the middle finger, plus profanity. It's "All About Me" attitude these days. We're supposed to share the roads & city streets. Drive Safe! Have a great summer.

I believe the speed limit is 40km/hr when passing workers/first responders/tow trucks within city limits and 60km/hr on the highway unless otherwise posted.

so you say why you don't know why people add comments like going to see the grandkids ect. but then isn't that exactly what you are doing by bringing it up in your comment fishin troll or I mean fishin guy, my thought about the road rage guy is even if he didn't see a sign he certainly should have been able to see the workers in the area maybe he was distracted while giving the op a hard time and just plain being an A Hole.

Brandon drivers (and other cities, too... I travel a great deal, and great distances) could use a good dose of the Three C's.  
 
It's been getting worse and worse in our city - the poor driving attitude.

34th street between Victoria Ave and Park Ave is double lane (the route you would take to go to Winchester) and there is no reduced speed in that area where work is going on. I am on that stretch several times a day. Signs on Victoria Ave are completely irrelevant to your argument.....so if you were going 30 on a double lane then why would the angry guy just not have gone around you if it was really because you were driving slow....or did you totally cut the guy off and almost cause an accident? What would his version be?  
 
I agree that road rage is a thing and that we all need to chill out when driving but if someone almost causes me to almost hit them then I know I get a little fired up and may want to flip the bird....but I choose to take a deep breath and remember that I am not a perfect driver.  
 
Just think there may be 2 sides to this story and it is always a good idea to self-reflect on what our roles were in the situation.

Can't really make judgement of the other parties actions with only one side of the story but, yes, your reaction could be described as road rage. Hope your day got better.

I believe is 60 kph when speed limit is 80 kph or more, 30 kph when less than 80 kph

Thank you all I asked was the speed when passing workers IE: correct me if you f I'm wrong.....I now know the meaning of road rage and feel sorry for anyone who has experienced it..

when you are passing those workers - it could be a relative, a family friend, a family friend''s son or daughter. A person working to feed a family of five.  
 
They have family too - how hard is it to slow down, whether signs of posted or not.  
 
If your life is so important and you can't slow down whether their are signs or not, the law or not and can't spare a few seconds, you need to learn to leave earlier and realize maybe the person working is important to someone too.

Well said. I used to work road construction and still work on the road. Can't count the number of times someone flew by or I've almost been clipped..
