Instead of doing the meal at home thinking of going out just wondering what places serve Christmas meal if anything open in these towns Minnedosa , Neepawa , Shoal Lake , Dauphin ?

If you don't want to cook at home your only other option is the Westman and Area Traditional Christmas dinner at the Victoria Inn. There will be nothing open in the towns you listed.

Minnedosa and Neepawa both have them.

At the old Royal Oak Inn (Clarion?), CanadInn, Victoria Inn for sure.

Maybe you went to the 12noon slot. Go around 4pm or you can even call them up for delivery.

don't forget to tip your servers. Im sure they would much rather be home with their friends and families. Christmas Day on year I had to go to Thompson by Greyhound, I went out and bought a box of chocolates for the driver. He was pleasantly surprised as no one would think of doing this and I hugely appreciated the fact that he had to work and be miles away from his family. As for meals is it for just a couple or a huge family?

There will be more choices with major hotel chains that offer restaurants in their establishments in Brandon than the smaller Cities and Towns you mentioned (Minnedosa, Dauphin, Neepawa, Shoal Lake).  
 
Having said that there might be a few more options in Brandon if some of the below thread is true. One would have to call a place if you wanted to find out if they are open 2018 Christmas Day. This link is the same kind of question last year on ebrandon in December of 2017. I'd definitely call around to avoid a locked door, though. Don't assume anything.  
 
A phone call and reservations might be recommended. You'd be surprised at how many people dine out Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

do people say that people who are out 'stuck' working on Christmas Day would rather be at home with their friends and families? How do you know? Some people may take breaks and enjoy their time with those they care about or some just personally don’t like to stop working altogether just because it is the holidays!

I too, enjoyed getting out and working a few hours and away from the family and food (cooped up in the house) to clear my mind. Not everyone has family or friends to be with over the holidays and working is often overlooked as an often positive experience to interact with people. No poor me here!

"Not everyone has family or friends to be with over the holidays". Many of us have family living half-way across the country and Xmas is not the best time to see them.  
No big deal, wish people would quit thinking you have to have a National Lampoon Xmas.  
Just relax and enjoy the time to do whatever you truly want to do.
