I appreciate your honesty and input into the discussion.
I had actually said that the carbon price would be raised by $30/tonne, which effectively sets it at $50 per tonne in 2020 and then raised by $10 each year after.
The current carbon price is too low to be effective in changing consumer habits as well as the habits of industry.
A carbon price is meant to hurt. The idea is to both change industry habits and consumer habits toward greener production and lifestyles.
Half of the money from the proposed carbon price will be placed back into the healthcare system, while the other half will be spent on green initiatives.
It is also important to note that we intend to put 10% of health care spending toward mental health and addictions initiatives.
Have a great day!

I do have an issue with hearing correctly.
So 50 dollar a tonne? Plus 10 more every year after.
That's crazy! People are having a hard enough time paying their bills and trying to survive as it is now.
I can't afford an electric car, most people can't!
People who live in older homes and are of a certain age are certainly not going to invest and install solar panels for heating their homes.
I hear that MNP conducted a survey about how much cash people had at the end of the month and 56% of people had only 200 dollars to spend however they want. To me that's extremely sad.
Why is it that only the provincial Conservatives are the only party wanting to give us a financial break? We need more money in our pocket not less.
The Federal Conservatives are also touting giving Canadians a break if they are elected.
I don't understand why the other parties, provincial and federal just want to spend and raise taxes, do they want to break us and take all our money?
Welcome to homelessness.
