I am attempting to create friendship/meet ups for anyone that identifies as male. Times have been & continue to be rough for everyone these days. With the recent news of men struggling in the Westman area, my goal is to build a group of younger adults who can not only provide a shoulder if needed but also bring new light to the darker sides of life, especially during the tough winter months. This is a group of men that can bring cultural & diverse experiences, share mental health solutions that have worked for them & just to hang out at community events or meet for drinks (do not feel that you must drink in order to attend, any type of drink is allowed). This is NOT a non profit, this is simply to bring men together to find solid friendships, it's extremely hard to find friends these days & I for one have been struggling with this since moving to Brandon last winter.  
 
Recommendations for meet ups are welcome but please be mindful of costs as we will have to pay individually.  
 
The age ranges from 21-40.. however 'older men who have more experience with life' are welcome to join, mentors would be a great asset to have in our group.  
 
My goal of the group is to have many & all types of men involved, from business owner to student & in between, under or over. It doesn't matter as long as you are respectful.  
 
I am not anyone's keeper, but we will not tolerate any form of disrespect or bullying. This is meant to be a safe space, however it is important to note that anything you don't feel like sharing is absolutely not necessary. You are not obligated to show up to any of the meet ups, but out of respect, please don't say you are/will be there if you won't. Anything that is shared by an individual should be respected & remain confidential especially if stated by that specific individual to keep private to the group. Please do not join this group if you are not open to trying new things, don't want to engage in different cultural activities or won't respect the guys around you. We can have open conversations, however if you are one to get heated over politics, women or cultural diversity.. this is not a group for you.  
 
This group will also not pay for any events, meet ups or activities. Nor is anyone obligated to pay for food or drinks while out with the group. Be respectful & expect to pay for what you order/event you attend.  
 
Lastly, this group is for men who want to meet other men to form friendships, however if you meet up with us & you don't feel that it clicks for you, you are not obligated to stick around or come back. Simply shoot me a text stating that it won't work out for you. This is a group that is also not full of mental health experts, we want to support others but we will not deal with crisis intervention, we will however provide resources if need be.  
 
If you are interested in creating new friendships, open minded to new experiences & simply want to go for drinks with like minded guys.. please shoot me a text with your full name, birthday & a little about yourself.  
 
FYI if I feel that you will not respect the groups 'rules', we will no longer invite you to the meet ups.

Why would you need my full name and birthdate, as well as a "little about myself" for what is purportedly supposed to be a casual men's social / support group?  
 
Good luck in this endeavour, we need more men's support, but it's a hard no from me as I see too many red flags in your post.

Right now you don't have a group, so there are no group's rules, only your rules. So what I'm reading is that you want to start a support group for anyone who identifies as male, so long as they meet with your approval, where they will talk about whatever you want to talk about, or even what they want to talk about, so long as it meets with your approval, and of course their behavior must be within the parameters of what you think is decent, and you have given your permission for guys to not return if they don't like it, but if they are invited they must provide notice of intent ......... Is your name Trudeau ??

this is a nice idea but as the previous posters have stated....a few things come into question.

So...binary male or are you open to taking in transgendered people as well?

Back in the day we had a club like that - it was called the local pool hall .
