"Must Sees in B.C."

OK, my daughter is buying me a plane ticket to B.C. for my birthday. (Thank you Robyn - you ARE the greatest!!!) I will probably only have 7 to 10 days there. I will be in the Vancouver area scouting job prospects and visiting some friends, one in particular.
Now, I realize the people I will be seeing live there and probably know the best places to see on a restricted (read VERY limited) budget but in my experience, I have found people that live where you are visiting don't think about the best places for a visitor to go.
So my question to you eBrandonders is this:
If you have been to B.C. whether to live or visit, what are "must-sees" that don't cost a lot of money.
I plan on visiting Victoria for two days if I can get a way with it but will be in the Vancouver/Burnaby area for the most part.
