How is the Nissan Armada/Infiniti QX80 on gas mileage? Is it really bad or comparable to a half ton truck?

The first and only Nissan I have driven is my 2014 Altima 2.5. With the CV transmission. I drove VW for years.  
 
In cold weather I the transmission sounds noisy. The ride is good. A lot of standard luxury like command start and heated seats and steering wheel.  
 
I have driven it about 80k over three years. According to computer the average fuel economy is 6.4L/100.  
 
I was looking for the lowest price for low mileage. And was positively surprised with overall value and reliable service of Nissan.

They have a 5.6 litre engine, and are comparable to 5.3 in the chevy Suburban, not the 6.2. If you need it to carry lots of people and tow a camper, it is more than capable.The Armada is a truck...LOL

My last "big" SUV was a Chevy Trailblazer and it was bad. I can drive to Wpg and but I have to fill it up before driving back to Brandon. I'm wondering if the Armada is like that.

check to see if it has a cvt transmission on the nissan .bought a nissan kicks and it revs very high in cold weather in the city all the time .it is not a cold weather car.
