Jordin Tootoo will always have a special place in the collective conscience of Westman. From seeing the pride of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut take the WHL by storm as a 16 year old rookie, later maturing into a professional player and most recently announcing his retirement from playing the game in Brandon there’s been a real interest locally in following his progression in the game and in life.
Those who have read his book “All the Way: My Life On Ice” will know that the road to adjusting to life in the biggest hockey league on earth was not an easy one.
