Birds eye photo shows new K-8 School development nicely underway

Now more than a half month in development, work is already progressing quite well at the site of construction of Brandon’s soon-to-be newest school.

Crews first begun initial work at the site late last month at the corner of Ninth Street and Maryland Avenue and as this Brandon School Division-provided aerial photo taken yesterday shows they’re wasting no time in preparing for the more involved stages of the development process.

When complete, Maryland Park School will house 450 Kindergarten to Grade Eight students within the walls of its 65,660 square feet. Its expected to open in September 2020. 

The Division in its recently approved budget allowed funding for a principal and administrative assistant to be hired as part of preparing for the eventual opening.
