The Thunderbird Bowl you’ve come to know for the past almost 20 years is about to get a serious makeover.
According to a story in today’s Brandon Sun that was later distributed to subscribers to the business’ email list, the facility is about to undergo a significant transformation into a Bowling Entertainment Centre that will be known as “T-Birds Food Fun Games.”
Changes will include the closure of Huggy’s Family Restaurant on the building’s main level in just over a week’s time, to be replaced by what’s being referred to as “high-end redemption video gaming.” In addition to the planned new games the new area will include seating where patrons can still order food including many items currently available at Huggy’s.
For food customers, hours will be extended on weekends during the day for what is now Huggys Sports Bar upstairs with the sports bar’s space upstairs remaining as part of the newly updated facility as a dining room space. Pizza Place buffets will also be featured upstairs on Wednesdays and Fridays and pizza still available for order off of the menu and for delivery. There will however no longer be a breakfast menu.
Following that will be significant updates to the bowling area and then later an updated kids play structure space.
The end of the summer is being targeted for completion with the facility including bowling space described as business as usual through renovations. When complete it sounds like folks will notice many things in common with a new bowling entertainment centre near Polo Park in Winnipeg by the name of Uptown Alley minus the laser tag component that that particular facility has.
Included below are a few conceptual images. I’ll post further updates in the weeks to come of specifics on yet to be confirmed new features become known.
