17-year old faces charges after four overnight fires

Posted by Adam in Local News, 5/10/2019

Brandon Police in this morning’s media release are reporting of a scary series of fires in the early morning hours today that they allege to be arson.

Police say that over a period of just over a half hour they and Brandon Fire and Emergency Services were called to respond to a total of four fires within a ten block radius in the city which included sheds, trees, dumpsters and a porch. Fires were extinguished without injury with total value damage to property to be determined.

Local photographer Liam Pattison Photography reports that locations of the fires included the 700 block of 9th street, 100 block of 3rd street, 1100 block of 7th street and the 1000 block of Russell Street.

An arrest was made near the scene of one of the fires and a 17-year old male is to face a series of charges in court in July.  Full details on the charges can be read in today's BPS media release at http://police.brandon.ca/media-zone/3325-10-may-2019
