After a several month buildout, Bell MTS’ brand new Shoppers Mall store opened for business on Thursday.
At 2200 square feet in size, the store is a marked step up from the space previously occupied by Bell.
It’s arranged in a more “stationed” format, said to allow for more interaction with customers. Also included is a “spa,” in effect a repair centre for customers who may have an issue with a device requiring service.
In conjunction with the opening of the store, Bell’s smaller 900 square foot outlet within the mall is now closed as is the Bell MTS kiosk that had been temporarily offering product and service while the new store was built out.
Bell’s multi-billion dollar deal to acquire MTS received Federal approval in February of 2017. As part of the transition of ownership in that purchase MTS’ former retail outlet in Shoppers Mall was migrated to a Telus store leaving Bell MTS without a true flagship presence in the Mall.
The new store employs 15 people. Yesterday’s opening is seen as a soft opening with a Grand Opening to come at a later date.
