It’s not quite Brandon’s confusion corner, but the intersection of 18th St and Braecrest Drive is known for its dangerous setup that has only become moreso with the rapid growth of the city over the past decade.
Especially at busier times of the day the speed of traffic coming North and South on 18th can create a situation of mandatory defensive driving for motorists turning off of Braecrest who have to use best possible judgment when accounting for the slope of the road and the speed of traveling vehicles coming from each direction.
It’s become the subject of an active discussion thread where posters examine current realities and share ideas on how it might be improved in the future. Suggestions vary from some way of including traffic lights to a larger scale re-imagining of how the two roads might merge.
