The Wheat City Whiskey Jacks made their home debut this evening, dropping a 12-8 score to the Minot-based Souris Valley Sabre Dogs before an enthusiastic crowd at Andrews Field.
After having about as unfortunate of a 1st inning as you could have in giving up eight runs, the homeside clawed their way back into the game over the course of the rest of the evening and gave local fans a hint of the kind of entertainment they might just be in for in the months ahead.
In what one might suggest is a sign of pent up demand for this level of baseball in the city, opening pitch originally scheduled for 7:05pm had to be delayed slightly to accommodate the large walkup crowd lined up at the gate. Attendance at the game was 1288.
The two teams matchup again on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at Andrews Field.
I managed to take a good amount of pics at the game and have included them below in a gallery.
