Brandon Police issued a special media release this afternoon to inform of what’s being referred to as a firearm incident that they were called to respond to on the 1000 block of 9th street in the early morning hours today.
In the incident a woman, 34 years of age, is said to have been shot and transported to Brandon Regional Health Centre and later Winnipeg’s Health Sciences Centre with what are referred to as non-life-threatening injuries.
The Brandon Police Service Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate with no information shared on any charges to-date, though its said that the incident is thought to not be random in nature.
