Last month it was learned that Brandon would in the fall for the first time be host to its very own annual comic convention.
After holding a “name the show” promotion, the group behind hosting has unveiled this week that it will go by the name of.... drum roll... Bran-Con. Winner in the name selection contest was Michael Catcheway who for his efforts won a VIP package that includes two weekend passes, event swag and access to what’s said to be shows, talent and events still to be announced.
Bran-Con 2019 is to feature a host of celebrity guests, comic creators & artists, cosplayers and other genre-related personas. At the time of last month’s announcement that the show was coming it was shared that appearing would be Canadian comic book artist Dawn McTeigue as well as Sam de la Rosa whose art credits span countless works for Marvel, DC and others.
It’s since been learned that attending will be industry veteran Joe Rubenstein and Canadian illustrator Mike Rooth. The event website also notes that Saskatchewan’s Meggii Cosplay will be part of the show with additional artists and celebrities to be announced.
The first annual Bran-Con takes place on October 19th and 20th at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium.
