Hockey fans galore turned out at the Keystone Centre as Brandon-born and raised NHLer Joel Edmundson used the afternoon portion of his day with the Stanley Cup to hold a local viewing party and share the trophy with locals.
The viewing party started at 1pm, running until 5pm with attendees reportedly lining up before noon and patiently waiting as much as 2 1/2 hours for their chance to see the trophy, meet Edmundson and have their photo taken.
Prior to Brandon the trophy made a stop in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where former Brandon Wheat King star Brayden Schenn had his own customary day with the trophy.
Edmundson, Schenn and the Blues won this yearâs Cup last month in a thrilling seven game series with the Boston Bruins. Edmundson became the first Brandon born player in nearly three decades to accomplish the feat.
