This Thursday will bring a great chance to enjoy a summer treat (or four) while supporting a very important cause to Manitoba children, parents and families when Dairy Queen hosts Miracle Treat Day at participating locations in Canada including Brandon and Neepawa.
Every Blizzard bought throughout the day will see its net proceeds donated to a Children’s Miracle Network hospital, which for Brandon and Neepawa sales will be the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. On the Foundation’s website it’s shared that contributions from the day will support the renovation and relocation of the Children’s Hospital Heart Centre, which was built in 1987 for a capacity of 1500 but now has more than 6000 kids from the province visit annually. More on the Heart Centre campaign, which is approaching halfway to its $7,500,000 goal, can be read at https://goodbear.ca/campaigns/build-a-new-heart-centre/
Last year over $10,000 was raised in Brandon. With the new Grill & Chill restaurant at Corral Centre having opened this past winter this will be the first Miracle Treat Day with three Brandon Dairy Queens, all of which will be participating on Thursday. That new Corral location will be host to special events on Thursday in conjunction with Miracle Treat Day. Between 4 and 8pm a bounce house will be setup along with face painting, a “spin to win” wheel and a DJ will be on site.
Neepawa’s Grill & Chill will also be taking part in the day with plans to feature a host of activities between 4-9pm including entertainment, face painting, balloon animals and a small petting zoo. Both the Neepawa and Brandon will also include an appearance in the evening by Dairy Queen's CEO.
Each of Brandon's three DQs have slightly different hours with their original location at 904 18th Street being open from 11am - 10pm, the Grill & Chill at Corral keeping hours of 10:30am - 10pm and the Shoppers Mall DQ/Orange Julius 9:30am - 9pm. Neepawa’s Grill & Chill is open from 11am - 10pm.
