This past Thursday was DQ’s Miracle Treat Day in Canada including three Brandon locations along with Neepawa.
Anyone that stopped into or even drove by the always-popular 18th street location or popped into the new Corral Centre restaurant probably suspected that the day was a success. With a few days having passed, the local franchise has had a chance to do the math and put into context just how much of the community came out in support of such an important cause. Via franchisee Laird Lidster, I understand that between the three Brandon Dairy Queens a total of 3487 Blizzards were sold. From those sales and other funds raised as part of the day $14,600 was netted in support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
All funds donated to the Children’s Hospital Foundation from the day in Manitoba were to go towards its Heart Centre campaign as it works towards building a new Pediatric Heart Centre to serve the care needs of the province’s children.
This was the first local Miracle Treat Day to include the Corral Centre location, which opened this past winter. As part of the event on Thursday that location included a bouncy castle, face painting and a “spin to win” promotion. The day also included a stop by Dairy Queen's CEO.
Kudos to everyone that took part in this great event for such an important cause!
