Ribfest returns for a third year this weekend, offering local folks a chance to order from three famous ribbers and play a part in selecting the best of the best.
New this year will be Michigan-based Billy’s BBQ, joining Texas Rangers and last year’s Peoples’ Choice champ Crabby’s BBQ Shack. Also on-site will be food trucks The Churro Stop and Hogs Fries and Dogs along with Tater King and Alabama Freshly Squeezed Lemonade. There will be two separate beer tents and live music.
A Kids Zone featuring mini golf and wiggle tractors will be setup from 12-5 on each of Saturday and Sunday. Westman Jamaican society will be hosting a pop-up kite flying on Sunday afternoon in the lead-up to their Kite Festival later this month.
Ribfest, which is setup in the Keystone Centre parking lot just South of Westoba Place, is a free-to-enter event. It will run from 11am - 10pm on each of Friday and Saturday, then 11 am - 7pm on Sunday.
As of the time of this posting the weather on Friday is forecast by Environment Canada to peak at a quite hot +28 degrees and mainly sunny before moderating to highs in the low 20s on Saturday and Sunday. Please check current forecast for most up-to-date info!
