A building long associated with corner/convenience stores in the city will soon feature a newly relocated business.
24th Street and Rosser Avenue had been the site of âShop on the Corner,â which closed in April. Before that it was preceded for many years by "Movies and More" which had also played the role of neighbourhood corner store and in a bygone era neighbourhood movie rental outlet.
On Friday evening an eBrandon member had noticed work being done on the since-vacant building. On a follow-up with the property owner I understand that it has been leased to a retail business. What business that will be hasnât yet been shared, though Iâve been told that it wonât be a convenience store meaning a new era of sort for those that live in that particular part of town.
The neighbourhood in recent years has seen an influx of residents alongside development of many multiplexes along Alaska Bay. That combined with the reasonable proximity to Brandon University should give potential for a good customer-base for whoever comes next!
Iâve reached out to learn more and will post a follow-up when info is available.
