Manitoba RCMP are reporting that an arrest has been made in connection with a shooting last Friday in the R.M. of Cornwallis that led to a search and RCMP call for assistance in locating a suspect.
In a notice posted on Thursday RCMP say that suspect Nicholas Peters turned himself into Police on Wednesday, has been arrested, was in custody and was to appear in Brandon court yesterday.
The day following the shooting, RCMP had advised that the suspect had been charged with Unauthorized possession of a firearm, Careless use of a firearm and Discharge firearm with intent. It was believed that he was located in the Brandon/Shilo area.
The victim in the shooting, a 45-year old male, is said to be in stable condition.
