When we last looked at the beginnings of construction on Christie’s Office Plus’ new Richmond Avenue East Brandon location it was little more than flat earth.
Fast-forward to today and after nearly four months of construction the building’s exterior is all-but-complete with work having comfortably moved onto its interior.
Recently a tour was shared that gives a look inside at progress on that interior. Over the course of the almost three minute walkthrough embedded below one already gets a good picture for the layout that includes an 8,000 square foot showroom, 22,000 square feet of warehouse space along with 8,000 square feet of office space upstairs:
Over the next few weeks it’s expected that drywalling and painting will take place in the lead-up to what a representative of Christie’s tells me is the anticipated completion of construction some time in November. The plan is to then move from their temporary location in the Town Centre to their new digs at 1300 Richmond Avenue East by December. Following that the retail side of the showroom is to be stocked and open by January.
All told it will mark a turnaround of about a year and a half from the May 2018 Downtown fire that claimed the business’ long-time Pacific Avenue building.
Christie’s Office Plus was founded locally in 1881. The business currently employs 38 in Brandon, a number that’s expected to grow when their new location officially opens its doors.
