With its first weekend less than two weeks away, plans for the 30th anniversary of Brandon’s largest arts and crafts sale came into focus recently with the release of the names of all vendors scheduled to feature at its two sales next month.
Brandon’s “Big One” Arts & Crafts Sale shared this weekend the full list of 175 vendors registered to setup for its initial October 5th and 6th show as well as the 195 to take part in a second sale weekend on October 19th and 20th.
In keeping with long-standing tradition, sellers are required to meet the criteria of offering handmade items. Included are according to sale organizer Karen Keilback approximately 60 new participants between the two weekends. Overall the majority of sellers are said to be from Manitoba and Saskatchewan with some from Ontario and Alberta and one as far as Nova Scotia.
This will mark the third year since the sale expanded to two weekends to accommodate the amount of vendors on its wait list. Each weekend is unique save for a limited amount of cases where a handful of food vendors appear for both (see below for full lists).
The sale takes place in the Keystone Centre’s Manitoba and UCT rooms between 10am and 5pm daily. Keilback shares that Saturday is typically the busier day on a weekend, which may create opportunity on Sunday for those adverse to biggest crowds.
Daily admission cost is $4.00 with children aged 12 and under being free. A portion of proceeds go toward the Cancer Society.
