What’s expected to soon be Brandon’s Tesla Supercharger is now closer to a reality this month with the appearance of packaging that one could presume contains some serious hardware at a development site in space previously allocated to parking in between Dollarama and Ashley Furniture at the city’s Corral Centre property.
At present, a map on the company’s website showing charger locations only states that a Supercharger is “Coming Soon” to Brandon with a target opening of 2019. Though Tesla has not further confirmed timeline or location, the most recent development and the appearance of a “Tesla Energy” logo at the site should remove any doubt for all but the most critical thinker.

Development site at the Corral Centre
It was first learned in 2018 that Brandon was one of many intended charger sites. Work was visibly noted to have taken place in July at the Corral location.
In addition to Brandon, the Tesla website lists Manitoba locations of Portage la Prairie, Winnipeg and Reynolds as coming soon along with locations along the Trans Canada Highway through Saskatchewan West to Calgary as the company builds out a cross-country network of chargers.
EV charging station locator PlugShare currently shows six charging locations in Brandon with an additional 240V charger having been recently setup at Murray Chevrolet Cadillac Buick & GMC last month. An additional charging option at Petro-Canada on the Trans Canada Highway is shown as coming soon as part of a cross-country network at Petro-Can stations.
