In September it was learned that fast-casual chain Wayback Burgers would soon be opening a location in the Wheat City.
Now a month-and-a-half later plans have come much more into focus as progress is made toward what will be the restaurant’s second Canadian location at 1240 18th Street in Brandon.
The local Wayback will be operated by franchisees Rahul Nair, Chirag Patel and Jagir Patel with plans to begin advertising to hire a staff of approximately 25 within the next week.
Wayback currently operates a restaurant in Winnipeg’s St. James area. Brandon is expected to very closely resemble that location both in terms of look as well as a menu that includes a host of beef burgers, chicken and haddock sandwiches, salads as well as sides such as fries, poutine, irish nachos, chips and hand-dipped milkshakes with an emphasis on fresh ingredients.
Strong consideration is given to allergies, where separate friers for breaded and non-breaded items allow for a wide assortment of gluten-friendly options alongside optional gluten-free buns. No peanuts are used on-site and seafood is cooked alongside breaded items, accommodating those with seafood allergies who might order items such as fries.
