Our nice little stretch of moderate winter weather is giving way to the white stuff today in Brandon as a more winter-like clipper system moves through the area from today into tomorrow.
According to Environment Canada’s forecast at the time of this posting, between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning Brandon is expected to have received 10-15cm of snow in a system that will be accompanied by wind gusts as high as 60 km/hr. Its safe to say that that combination of snow and wind will make for dangerous road conditions throughout the region. Temperatures themselves are forecast to stay quite moderate, rising overnight to just -1.
Though to begin the day accumulations were thought to not be quite serious enough to justify a warning as far West as Brandon, Environment Canada has since expanded its Snowfall Warning area to include the city. The full text of that warning can be seen here
