For folks feeling a holiday season family event void in the absense of a CP Holiday Train stop in Brandon in 2019, Samaritan House has just your ticket this coming Tuesday evening with the introduction of the first Samaritan House Christmas Village.
Setup in the Clarion Hotelâs Grand Ballroom, event will feature six family-friendly games/stations including a gift stack race and snowman wrap. As games are completed, visitors fill out an âevent passportâ and at completion will have the chance for a visit with Santa himself.
Separate from games will be activities that include cookie decorating, card making and storytelling for younger children. Live music will be provided by local choirs.
Plans are to host the event in alternating years to compliment years where the CP Holiday Train doesnât make a stop in the city.
The come-and-go event will take place from 5-9pm on Tuesday, December 3.
The Christmas Village is held as a fundraiser for the Samaritan House food bank with entry being $5 per person or $20 for a group of 5. Thanks to contributions from event sponsors, the first 50 visitors get free admission.
