In a post last week Iâd passed along details on plans for the first ever Samaritan House Christmas Village family event to be held tonight (Tuesday, December 3rd) in Brandon. All within the sprawling space that is the Clarion Hotelâs Grand Ballroom was to be a host of family-friendly games and activities along with seasonal entertainment and the presence of the jolly man in the red suit himself.
Now this afternoon with the folks behind the event having had the opportunity to get access to the room and setup I was allowed to pop by for a sneak peak and have included a handful of pictures in a gallery below to give an idea of what will be within when doors open.
Stations are to include cookie decorating, present stacking competition, a snowball race, pin the nose on the snowman and a snowman wrap. After going through them all there will be a chance for a visit with Santa for a treat. For younger kiddos a festive storytelling area is setup. A schedule of entertainment will be taking place throughout the night (see schedule below). It all plans to be a festive family evening full of its share of fun and laughs.
The come and go event, held as a fundraiser for the Samaritan House food bank, takes place from 5-9pm tonight at the Clarion. Admission is $5 per person or $20 for a group of 5. Thanks to event sponsor contributions, the first 50 attendees get in free.
The Christmas Village is planned to take place on alternating years with the CP Holiday Train making Brandon stops on alternating years in between.
