Motorists will have to wait at least another approximately half year for the completion of the ongoing 1st Street Bridge replacement project, the Brandon Sun reported on Tuesday.
After completion and opening of the twin two-lane bridge decks themselves in late 2017, crews returned to the site early this fall to work on waterproofing and asphalt paving of each of the North and Southbound decks.
Still remaining to be done is the planned connection of Pacific Avenue, which will include a re-orienting of Pacific that involves a South curve from 2nd Street to where Pacific will intersect with the bridge approach:

The planned Pacific Ave connection (submitted)
The Pacific connection had originally been intended as part of updates this fall, though that did not happen as a result of the high amount of rain received in the city during September and October. Plans are now for the work to be completed by the end of June 2020.
After some traffic delays as part of work this past fall, both North and Southbound bridge decks have since returned to two lanes of traffic in each direction. Some sidewalk work remains to be done on the Southbound span as well in addition to any final site remediation work.
Construction had begun in late 2015.
