Most that have paid a visit to or even driven by Wayback Burgers’ new fast-casual Brandon restaurant over its opening days will be well aware that the city’s newest eatery has been beyond busy as folks from from the area flock to try out its 18th street location. Lineups could regularly be observed to be the full width of the restaurant, and not necessarily only during traditional meal times.
New information today puts further into perspective just how brisk it has been, with the local franchisee telling me that opening week amounted to two separate records as far as the Wayback chain of more than 150 restaurants. According to Rahul Nair, who along with Chirag Patel and Jagir Patel make up the local franchisee group, beginning with January 7th's opening day the Brandon location set the Wayback record for busiest opening week in terms of sales. Also within that week, this past Saturday set the record for most sales on any single day of any Wayback location. The chain does not disclose exact sales figures.
Nair added that the number of customers has been beyond expectations, expressing thank you to the community for the response they are seeing.
Part and parcel to the busy start has been a delay in the start of delivery service, which is now scheduled to begin in the last week of January via Skip the Dishes. Ordering and delivery via the Wayback website and app is to follow some time after that. Until that time, ordering remains available in-restaurant only.
The local location plans a Grand Opening event closer to the end of the winter season.
