WestJet announced on Friday the addition of 90 new flights from Calgary for the summer season including four additional flights between Calgary and Brandon Municipal Airport.
Currently the airline operates daily flights between the cities with scheduled arrival at Brandon from Calgary at 12:24pm and departures from Brandon at 1:05pm. Winter has included an early 6:15am flight from Brandon to Calgary on each of Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and a flight arriving from Calgary in Brandon on each of Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 11:37pm (please check individual dates to verify departure times).
The new summer flights beginning at the end of April will be scheduled to depart Brandon at 6:10am on each of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Additional flights will be scheduled to arrive in Brandon from Calgary at 11:49pm on each of Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The regular daily flight, previously the only planned for the summer months, continues as per normal in arriving from Calgary at 12:20pm and departing Brandon at 12:55pm.
The summer schedule is to start at the end of April with a WestJet spokesperson sharing on Friday evening that from that point the new flights are to run year-round. New additions are not yet listed in the airline’s online booking engine with flights being available for reservation beginning on Monday.
WestJet began offering service from Brandon in 2013 following a local petition that strongly demonstrated demand for regular commercial air service. The City in 2017 completed an expansion of its airline terminal.
