Brandon’s newest school is just seven months away from opening its doors to students and with construction progressing on the building itself efforts continue on the many other tasks necessary to prepare for the 2020-21 school year.
One of those tasks is determining Maryland Park School’s identity, with an open-ended survey of students held earlier this month in an effort to work toward determining the school’s colours, logo and mascot. The results of that survey are in, with a Tuesday afternoon press release distributed by the school division sharing a host of impressive different logo choices to go with the school “mascot” of one of Tigers, Lions, Wolves, Panthers and Dolphins:
Possible Maryland Park School logo designs (submitted)
School colour choices include Red, Orange, Blue and Black
An online survey has been opened to give students and parents a chance to further guide the process of choosing between available options.
The school’s name had been decided after a 2018 outreach to the public for ideas that was followed by the Brandon school board deciding on the Maryland Park moniker.
Construction began on the 65,660 square foot school late last winter. Maryland Park is scheduled to open to 450 Kindergarten to Grade Eight students this coming September.
