With the Grey Cup in the midst of a four day tour of the city, the Wheat Kings put on a party fit for the iconic trophy on Friday as part of Winnipeg Blue Bomber Night at Westoba Place.
For their game against the conference-leading Edmonton Oil Kings the club sported special Bomber-themed jerseys including a logo inspired by the 2019 Grey Cup champs.
The more than century-old trophy itself was on hand for the evening, first as part of the game's ceremonial opening face-off and then later being made available for fan photos during the first intermission alongside the Blue Bombers’ Stanley Bryant and Pat Neufeld.
The BWK came out on top in the game by a 5-2 score in the first of two key weekend matchups against division-leading opponents. Below are a handful of pics I managed to capture while I was at the rink.
