As it enters the final year of its first decade in business, a popular locally owned and operated restaurant will soon be much larger as it grows to meet customer needs.
Joe Beeverz Bar and Grill plans to expand into the unit directly to the South of its Keystone Village mall location, Owner/Operator Chad Wallin shared this week, as the restaurant grows a full 50% in size from its current 2400 square feet.
The space that the restaurant is moving into is presently occupied by SellOffVacations.com, who will be moving next door into space formerly occupied by Quiznoâs.
Renovations are presently underway in the former Quiznoâs location to accomodate SellOffVacationsâ new space, with Joe Beeverz expected to be in a position to begin work in its soon-to-be expanded space in late April.
According to Wallin construction in the new area will take place separate to the existing restaurant space, allowing for business as usual during that work. When construction on the new space is complete, there is expected to be a brief period of time where the existing space will have to be shut down for a refresh along with the connection of the two spaces. Wallin expects that closure to last at most a week. When all is said and done, the plan is for all to be completed in June with the new look Joe Beeverz open in time for the summer.
In total the updated restaurant will make up 3600 square feet, a meaningful step up from the existing 2400 square feet that will allow about 50% more seating in addition to more space for kitchen team and managers. The restaurant typically employs between 30 and 35, a number which is not expected to meaningfully change with the expansion in stead expected to provide further opportunity for existing staff.
The planned expansion is reminiscent of similar growth undertaken but another locally owned and operated business in Toymasters, who grew into the space adjacent their 18th street location in 2019.
Joe Beeverz first opened on May 31, 2011 and has since grown to also include Yorkton and Clear Lake locations.
