Last week, in response to the present world economic environment and in consistency with the wider trend local gas prices dropped below the dollar mark to as low as 97.4 cents per litre depending on the station.
Monday morning saw the reduction go a meaningful step further, with some local stations further initiating a cut into the mid 80s for the price of a litre of regular gasoline. As of 9:30am many stations in the city’s South end and on 18th Street could be observed at prices ranging from 84.6 to 84.9 cents/L of regular fuel.
In comparison to the price last weekend it makes for a remarkable drop of 23 cents/litre of regular gas compared to just last weekend or just under $7 on a 30L fill.
Via gas price aggregator GasBuddy, the lowest price in Manitoba at present is 74.9 cents/L with an average across the province of 92.2/L of regular gasoline. Some local stations at the time of this posting remained in the 97s. Most recently known local prices can be seen at GasBuddy’s Brandon page.
