With spring now past the halfway mark, much of the area’s wildlife is now well on its way to raising its next generation.
Among that population is a family of foxes that makes its home in a den near Brandon.
I had the chance to spend a little time this week observing with camera and long lens from a safe distance. With young kits now at this time of the year regularly leaving the den to play and learn the ropes it makes for a fun and at times challenging time with the camera. I managed to come away with a handful of decent pics, which I’ve included in the gallery below!
If you do happen to come across a similar fox family wherever you live, please make sure to give them their space and remember that they are wild animals. Pulling up close to a den with a car with cell phone hanging out the window is unlikely to yield the results you’re looking for and depending on the traffic dynamic in the area could create an unsafe situation for all involved.
This site is the sum of user suggestions and tips not unlike the one that led to this gallery. Do you have a tip for photogenic wildlife within about a half hour of Brandon that could lead to a future gallery? I’d love to hear from you through the Contact link!
