Brandonites will soon be able to show their local pride while supporting a key local cause thanks to an upcoming zero profit initiative from a collaboration of Brandon business people.
Soon available for purchase will be an assortment of apparel under the “Love Local” name, adorned with a custom as-Brandon-as-it-gets design that features a representation of the city’s Downtown skyline, it’s trademark water tower, the Keystone Centre and just the right amount of wheat that you’d expect for clothing repping the Wheat City.
The clothing, which includes a hoodie, adult and youth t-shirts and a Love Local hat is the product of Brandon’s Jenn and Ryan Shields and Brandon’s Source for Sports with the latter providing the trendy design.
According to Ryan Shields, the motivation for the initiative came about after the Shields had seen a similar initiative in another city this Spring. "We saw this as a great opportunity to give back to the city and give people a hand that need it right now” shared Shields.
100% of proceeds from sales go to Brandon's Samaritan House in support of the organization's programs to help those in need in the community.
Each clothing item is available for pre-order as part of an intended one-time five weeks of availability until July 31. Following that time, all who have ordered will be contacted with details on a local pickup location.
