Whether one is coming into the city from a road trip or a recent flight into YBR, the road into Brandon from highway 10 North sees a notable change next week when the Wheat City area’s newest gas bar/convenience store pairing officially opens for business.
Waywayseecappo Gas Bar Brandon features ten full service standard pumps and two diesel pumps along with a fully stocked convenience store at a location just North of Brandon on the West side of highway 10 just before the airport turnoff.
The store features the assortment of goodies one might expect to see at a gas bar convenience store including snacks, hot and cold drinks, slushies, frozen food as well as a large selection of baked goods from Brandon’s Kuipers Bakery. The location will also serve as a Blue Moon water distribution site.
The site of the station features what is bound to become a landmark for those entering the city from the North, a 35 foot teepee-inspired structure which will soon be complimented by a large digital sign.

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Thursday, July 16. The festivities will include a ribbon cutting, singers and dancers with draws, giveaways and complimentary lunch catered by Danny’s Barbeque and Smokehouse. Hours for the grand opening will be 11am-2pm. Depending on how final preparations go in the days ahead, the station may open slightly ahead of Thursday’s grand opening.
The station, operated by Waywayseecappo First Nation, employs 12 with plans to further expand that employee base by as much as eight more in the future.
