In the Spring the process of liquidating the assets of Nygard Group of Companies began, leading to store closing sales across the country including Nygard’s Alia N TanJay women’s clothing outlet at Shoppers Mall Brandon.
Now more than seven weeks running, the sale at the Brandon store has recently reached the meaningful discount level of 50-70% off of regular priced merchandise and 60-70% off of already marked down items as it works towards selling off all product in the lead-up to an eventual closure.
Following a pandemic-related temporary closure in March, the store re-opened to its closing sale in early June with discounts further adjusted on subsequent Thursdays. A final closing date is not yet known and will be dependant on the pace of the ongoing liquidation sale, which will still require warehouse stock and store fixtures to be sold before all is said and done.
Signage posted at the entrance to the Shoppers Mall store asks customers to wait for an associate before entering, with anywhere from seven to ten customers permitted to shop at one time before being asked to queue up for entry. Hand sanitizer is provided in the store. A single change room is available, with those making use permitted to try on two items at a time.
All purchases are considered final sale with no refunds or exchanges. Cash is being accepted as a payment method alongside debit, credit and Nygard gift cards. Store hours are 11am - 6pm Monday through Saturday and 12-5pm on Sundays.
The Brandon store employs six.
