In a year of disruption when it comes to the many annual events on the Westman calendar, one area staple is well on its way to a return within the bounds of our new normal.
In just a few weeks’ time, the Town of Souris will once again be home to the annual Souris Scarecrow Days.
According to a social media post shared this week by the Souris Glenwood Chamber of Commerce, this year’s event will take place from October 2nd to 4th and will focus on the theme of “Music.”
Initially confirmed attractions for the 29th annual hosting of the event include a BBQ hosted by the area fire department as well as the return of the popular Apple Target event. Town Wide Yard Sales are slated to take place on Saturday the 3rd from 9am - 1pm.
The Souris Glenwood Chamber of Commerce has a wider call out to others in the community who might host additional events on the weekend with a focus on safety.
Like any event finding a way to make it work in 2020, modified expectations will be in place in lieu of safety in the present pandemic reality. This includes all yard sale hosts being presented with information on safety guidelines.
