Finance Manager/Controller
Boundary Co-op is hiring a Finance Manager/Controller at our Administrative Office in Boissevain, Manitoba.

What you'll do:
Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the Finance function for Boundary Co'op. You will implement financial strategies, programs, and initiatives, while providing input into the development of organizational strategies. You will collaborate with the leadership team to ensure consistent alignment of financial practices across the organization and will be responsible for developing policies and internal controls that support key activities and programs at Boundary Co'op.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understand and adhere to Boundary Co-op's Values, Mission and Vision;
- Provide world-class service to Members and Guests, aligning with our brand expectations and the "You're at Home Here" motto;
- Assess and modify accounting and controlling policies and programs to meet requirements to support Boundary Co-op's needs;
- Oversees the preparation of budgets/forecasts and maintenance of general/cost accounting, payroll, payables, and receivables. Provide financial analysis and interpretation of budget variances to advise and guide leaders;
- Provide leadership to the Finance team of professionals. Responsible for the talent management cycle, including recruitment, development and training, performance management, etc.
Who you are:
- We are seeking a positive, collaborative, and motivated individual with a strong drive to learn. Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- You have a CPA designation or equivalent education.
- 5 years' experience as a Finance Manager or equivalent related experience.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience preferably in a retail environment; however, we are willing to train the right person.
- 5 years of experience leading technical or professional staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet precise deadlines.
- Familiarity with JD Edwards accounting systems is an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with intermediate skills in other Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent understanding and familiarity with brand building and brand management.
- Knowledge of ethical business practices and associated regulations.
- Proven team leader who is flexible, adaptable and provides coaching and development to team members
- You're honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
- You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
