Private in-home Respite Worker
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Respite Worker to assist with 2 clients in a home share setting when care providers plan to be out of home. This will consist of evening and weekend shifts and could lead to overnight stays occasionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Respect the individual?s rights and choices within their home.
- Administer Medications and sign MARS Sheet.
- Provide accurate, legible documentation: Log book, incident reports, and assigned record-keeping.
- Light cooking and snacks.
- Complete assigned household tasks and maintain sanitary practices.
- Participate in and encourage engagement in community or personal activities.
- Communicate effectively with the participant, Homeshare and family members.
- Handle and reconcile participant funds with proper receipts.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful team environment.
- Follow confidentiality and respectful workplace policies.
Qualifications
- First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Adult & Child Abuse Registry checks.
- Vulnerable Sector & Criminal Record checks.
- Class 5 driver?s license would be an asset.
- Understanding of ALIDA (Adults Living with an Intellectual Disability Act) is an asset.
- Previous caregiving or disability support experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow care plans accurately.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
