Coordinated Access Intake Supervisor

Samaritan House Ministries Inc. is seeking a full-time Coordinated Access Intake Supervisor to join our Safe and Warm Shelter team. This is a full-time term position including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations from April 1, 2026-March 31, 2027 with the possibility of extension.  

Duties:

Following the successful completion of a training period, the role will be responsible for:

  • HIFIS expert for Safe and Warm which includes on-going training for team
  • Ability to create HIFIS training material and lead training sessions with staff in a professional manner
  • Point of contact for the organization regarding HIFIS database and Coordinated Access system
  • Supervise staff along with the Shelter Manager to create a healthy, respectful, and psychologically supported work environment
  • Participates in Coordinated Access/HIFIS meetings on behalf of the organization representing the organization in a professional manner
  • Be on call to assist staff with issues or fill in for absent staff for shifts
  • Liaise with security staff on shifts to make sure guidelines are being followed
  • Supervise students doing practicums, including developing projects for students to complete
  • Maintain HIFIS and excel database in order to provide accurate reporting information to community and funders upon request
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy regarding the guests of Safe and Warm
  • Take direction from Shelter Manager regarding potential tasks to complete during their absence
  • Attending shelter staff meetings with Executive Director

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Preferred education in Social Work or combination of other professional experience
  • Experience supervising staff and maintaining a safe, healthy work environment
  • Experience training staff using various tools like Power Point, manuals, etc.
  • Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, First Aid, Mental Health First Aid
  • Able to provide a Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Persons and Child Abuse Check upon hiring
  • High level computer skills using HIFIS, Word, PowerPoint and any other technology tools
  • Class 5 Driver's license required
